MOBIpreneur: Empowering Small Business Leaders Through Mobile Micro-learning
The MOBIpreneur project is an innovative initiative designed to empower small and medium-sized enterprise leaders and enhance the accessibility of adult education across the European Union. Recognizing the growing importance of digital transformation and the persistent challenges of the digital divide, MOBIpreneur offers a timely and practical solution. The project acknowledges that many SME leaders, particularly those in rural or remote areas, or from underrepresented groups, face barriers to accessing traditional education due to time constraints, limited access to technology and internet connectivity, and other socioeconomic factors. MOBIpreneur directly addresses these challenges by delivering an innovative micro-learning curriculum directly to their smartphones.This initiative brings together a consortium of diverse partners, including educational institutions, business development organizations, and technology providers from various European countries:

The project's foundation lies in a transnational investigation of the real-world challenges faced by small businesses, including their digital skills gaps and preferred learning styles. This research informs the development, testing, and delivery of a cutting-edge MOBIpreneur training curriculum, broken down into easily digestible micro-learning modules. Critically, the curriculum is delivered via WhatsApp Messenger, a widely used and accessible platform, ensuring that even those with limited internet bandwidth or in remote locations can participate. This approach removes many traditional barriers to education, making it more inclusive and convenient.
A key element of MOBIpreneur is the integration of an AI-driven chatbot directly within WhatsApp. This chatbot provides learners with real-time support, answering questions about the program and its implementation, and creating a more interactive and personalized learning experience. Complementing the online learning, a blended learning approach incorporates mentoring programs to localize the learning experience and provide personalized guidance. Finally, to ensure sustainability and wider impact, the project will produce a Trainers' Guide and Best Practices manual, equipping educators and trainers to effectively integrate and deliver micro-learning content through WhatsApp.
By utilizing WhatsApp as its delivery platform, the project embraces digital transformation in education, reaching learners in their preferred digital environment, regardless of internet speed or quality. The AI-powered chatbot further enhances digital readiness by fostering comfort and adaptability with digital tools.
